Meet Deirdre Hynes
Enterprise Excellent Consultant
Deirdre Hynes is passionate about helping her clients bring ease and efficiency to their businesses.
From growing up in a local family business to leading a global performance team at a multinational manufacturing firm, Dee’s breadth of experience gives her a deep understanding of how to successfully support businesses at all scales.
Deirdre has a track record of success in developing and deploying Enterprise Excellence capabilities in fast-moving complex organisations and brings almost 30 years of industry experience to bear in the projects she delivers. Having begun her career as a Quality Engineer at Sumicem, Deirdre’s interest in performance improvement led her to a role at multinational manufacturing firm Molex where she was soon promoted to Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. Here she led the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems, working closely with local management teams. Later Deirdre was promoted to Global Master Blackbelt at Molex, where she led global projects, facilitated critical strategy sessions, and delivered high-quality coaching and mentoring across the organisation. Deirdre went on to land the role of Global Performance Improvement Leader. During her time in this role, she drove Value Stream Transformation programmes across manufacturing facilities, including delivering effective coaching and mentoring at all levels to improve operational efficiency across the organisation. In all these roles, Deirdre consistently demonstrated her capacity to improve Key Performance Indicators from a site level right up to a global level.
In 2020, Deirdre left Molex to establish her own Enterprise Excellence consulting firm, Grianan Consulting Ltd. Since then, she has been offering Enterprise Excellence services to clients of varying scales across a broad spectrum of industries as well as developing and delivering content for the University of Limerick’s Masters in Lean Six Sigma. Dee’s customers continue to return to her for her capacity to understand their needs and help them identify, learn, and apply the ideal suite of practical, actionable solutions to meet their requirements. Dee is renowned for her warm but thorough style of training, her passion for creating a positive learning environment for students, and her capacity to ensure that everyone clearly understands the concepts being presented and knows how to apply them to their role to maximise impact on business goals.
Deirdre holds a BSc in Applied Physics and Instrumentation. She is one of only a handful of consultants in Europe certified as a Value Stream Design Trainer and Coach by the Institute for Operational Excellence. Deirdre is also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black belt, a certified Lean Kaizen Event Leader and a Leadership Strategies certified Effective Facilitator.

Local Enterprise Office Funding
The Local Enterprise Office’s Lean for Micro programme is designed to encourage clients to adopt Lean business principles in their organisations to increase performance and competitiveness. If you are eligible for this programme, the Local Enterprise Office will partially fund your work with Grianan Consulting. Enterprise Ireland’s Lean Business Offer is designed to encourage clients to adopt Lean business principles in their organisation to increase performance and competitiveness.
